David Seth Cyfers (b. 1983, Chapmanville, WV) is a resident of Huntington, West Virginia. He received a BFA from Marshall University School of Visual Art in 2007 with a dual-emphasis in Graphic Design and Printmaking. He has been working as a self-employed designer for over a decade. His multidisciplinary practice extends beyond design to include painting, sculpture, sign fabrication, and furniture. Jill LaFear, his wife, owner of Ackenpucky Design, operates as an interior design and art director. Seth has worked often as a collaborator, parallel to her ambitious projects. Together, with their children, they enjoy a life centric to the arts and the betterment of their community.

His most recent work consists of four paintings that explore his love for nature and the Appalachian landscape. The series depicts a scene of a passing thunderstorm illuminating a virgin highland forest at night. The mission of the process was to create an Appalachian scene that related loosely to the style of French folk painter, Henri Rousseau. Many queues were also derived from American painter, David Hockney. The panels were worked on slowly throughout 2024 into 2025.
